THE MISSION

Every Child Deserves a Teacher Who Sees Their Potential.

The teachers who shape our lives do more than teach lessons. They help us discover our gifts, recognize our potential, and imagine futures we never thought possible.

Yet Black men remain significantly underrepresented in America's classrooms.

Summer House Institute is working to change that by helping Black and Latino male college students discover, pursue, and successfully navigate pathways into teaching.

EDUCATION FOR THE CULTURE.

THE FEATURED STORY

TWO THINGS

CAN BE TRUE.

An artist can inspire an audience. A teacher can inspire a generation.

Featuring Julian King, recording artist and long time educator.

For more than a decade, recording artist Julian King helped young people discover their creativity, develop their confidence, and recognize their potential as an educator.

Now pursuing his music career full-time, Julian’s journey reminds us that teaching is more than a profession. It’s an opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the next generation.

This holiday season, Summer House Institute is developing Teachers Behind the Music, an intimate music-and-storytelling special exploring Julian’s journey, reconnecting him with former students, and celebrating the teachers whose influence extends far beyond the classroom.

Julian’s story represents what’s possible. Summer House is working to develop more educators who can make that difference.

Education for the Culture.

Through Teachers Behind the Music, Summer House is celebrating the educators who shaped our culture and inspiring the next generation to enter the classroom.
